Operations Manager
This manufacturing organisation in South Yorkshire are looking for an Operations Manager
As Operations Manager you will have a key leadership role in the successful management of the business. You will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the continued success of the procurement, manufacturing and distribution operations of the business. The role will require you to manage a successful workforce ensuring their productivity, flexibility and cooperation to prepare for and implement product and process changes driven by a dynamic market and regulatory environment. You will lead and motivate the existing team promoting lean principles at all times and will identify potential challenges, implementing improvements where necessary while maintaining positive relationships throughout the business.
Your main responsibilities will include:
*Procurement and inventory control
*Managing the day to day production schedule
*Managing the flexibility and co operation of the workforce
*Identifying potential areas and functions that need more focus at particular times and the subsequent organisation of the workforce
*Process integrity and product quality
*Product cost optimisation
*Establishing, measuring and achieving SLAs and other key operational metrics
Person Specification:
*You will have a background in manufacturing, ideally in the printing and/or automotive industries although candidates of a high calibre from other sectors will be considered
*You will be a team leader and trust builder
*You will have proven balance of managerial and hands-on, implementation experience
You will have excellent communication, inter-personal and motivation skills and be comfortable dealing with people at all levels
*You will have a track record of successfully managing change
*You will be forward thinking, adaptable and practical
*A background in CI/Lean method techniques is desirable
